Football scheme celebrates end of season

The Suffolk New College football Scheme end of season presentation was held on Thursday 6th May in our brand new College restaurant Shelley’s. The evening was held to celebrate the achievement of the players throughout the season 2009/10.

Players from both the men’s and ladies scheme came along to the presentation evening to celebrate with their friends what has been such a successful season for both teams. The evening began with a sit down buffet provided by the Catering and Hospitality students followed by the presentation of awards.

The awards were presented by Mr Trevor Cox, Active Projects Manager of Ipswich Town Community Trust. All students received a medal for their dedication and hard work throughout the season. There were presentations made to students in both the ladies and mens side for Coaches Player, Players Player and Most Improved Player. There were awarded to the following:

Ladies Football Scheme

Coaches Player of the Season - Sam Hemmings

Players Player of the Season - Jo Davey

Most Improved Player of the Season -  Hannah Smith

Mens Football Scheme

Coaches Player of the Season - Jemel Fox

Players Player of the Season - Danny Cook

The most coveted award of the evening is for Student of the Year; this includes both sporting and academic achievement. This year the award went to Robert Seaborne who showed dedication in his studies along with the dedication and commitment he made to the football scheme.

The scheme works closely in partnership with the Ipswich Town Community Trust and it is with their help that we have such a successful team and season and it is with great pleasure that we will be working alongside them in next years season in the Football Conference Youth Alliance.
