African History Month 2010
Suffolk New College, working with the Nia Project came together to host the exhibition of the work by Thabo Jaiyesimi and Ayan De First.
Thabo Jaiyesimi is a documentary photo journalist whose work reflects on key social political changes as observed in the UK. Nigerian visual artist Ayan’s work conveys his cultural journey expressing the basic foundations of his transformation in the UK.
There was an exhibition of both art work at the Corn Exchange where members of the public were able to view and purchase.
Also as part of African History Month, the College held a breakfast event for members of the community and held screenings of the films 'A Raisin in the Sun' and 'Motherland' as part of the Nubian Film Season. All were extremely well supported.
We look forward to working with the Nia Project again for next years events.
