Sue Wallace-Shaddad

Sue Wallace-Shaddad became a Member of Corporation in December 2010. Sue grew up in Suffolk and and has lived in Ipswich since 2002. She is married and has two children, one of whom studied Media Production at Suffolk New College until summer 2011 and the other is a singer songwriter in London. 

Sue's career has been and still is with the British Council, which promotes cultural relations with the UK through its programmes in education and society, arts and English. Sue joined the British Council after doing a languages degree at St Andrews University, worked for several years in London and then had a series of overseas postings over 18 years in Spain, Nigeria, Poland, Slovakia and Russia. Since 2002 Sue has been in corporate roles in the UK, managing strategic partnerships, strategy and resources for the overseas network and more recently intercultural dialogue programmes.

 Sue has a strong interest in the arts, coming from a Scottish painting family, collects paintings and loves going round antiques and bric a brac sales.  She writes poetry from time to time and enjoys Suffolk walks.
